Heh, I did wonder who had won actually, cos we were sat at the P&E when you guys finished, and really couldn't tell! We won our first race, though really only because they crabbed about halfway and we got a fairly large advantage. Our 2nd one was against Queens' and unfortunately we crashed right at the start, so they got way ahead. However, once we'd recovered from that, we rowed absolutely beautifully, and made up so much ground on them, we'd have kicked their arses if it weren't for the start

But at least it means I'm back home in my nice warm room now, and have plenty of time to get ready for BCD

I don't like Queens' now! They beat us in the quarters by half a length, maybe not even that! We were head to head all the way but we were in a really crap boat and three of us (myself included) lost a foot strap and tried to keep going without, quite interesting, but no crabs and technically probably better than yesterday! They also knocked out our first boat, Fairbairnes will be our revenge! I'm shattered and really not doing circuits tomorrow!!!

hey helen did you see me did you see me! I was a regular clare boatie today! and we got through to the semi finals!!!!!!!! wooo i love victory. But queens put us out as well, i was a bit disappointed with my performance, i spannered a couple of times, really lost my timing, and was close to catching a crab a couple of times! But was odd, on the second race my body wasnt hurting so much, i was more exhausted than anything! We could have won, I think the rushing was a bit of a problem....why do ALL novices boats rush! I think that might have caused me to go out of time, i wasnt paying attention at all cos i was having trouble feathering. I think i might have cost the crew a bit of distance, but not enough to mean we would have won!

I rather stupidly agreed to go after a bit of pestering by my next door neighbour without realising that I don't know any of the women's blues basketball team except two people who are organising it.

There will be tickets on the door for £3 and we could make it another TSR get together...
