Don't you still have compulsory exam questions on DM?

A.

I think you get Java, ML, DM and some other stuff in CS1 paper.
What the F?

for all x .(exists y. p(x,y)) and exists y.(for all x.P(x,y))

Any difference between the 2? I don't know. Go ask Glynn, he set the bloody question!
Vivaldi is good.... DM is bad.... mmmkay? Don't do DM children, cos DM is bad.... If you do DM then you are bad... mmmkay? mmkay mr Mackey mmmkay.

easy! Consider function p(x,y) = "x punched y"

for all x .(exists y. p(x,y)) means: All x's punched at least one y

exists y.(for all x.P(x,y)) means: There exist's a y that all x punched

The two arent the same, since one does not imply the other. The second does indeed imply the first actually, since if all x punched y then all x punched some y. But the first does not imply the second (it does not imply that all x punched at least the same y)

It really, really scares me when you guys start talking like this. And you all seemed so normal at Clare!

yeah i know...but what's even MORE scary is that i actually understand what he was asking, and knew how to answer it! I frighten myself!

Hey, I was never normal. Otherwise, I'd be sleep right now.

I can't tell the difference between the two statements.
Incidentally, Glynn used "x loves y" instead of "x punched y"...

yes but i'm far more violent!

and do you understand my answer there?

Yeah... What's even MORE MORE MORE scary, is that I actually understand your explaination... although must say it's a good explaination.

Hahaha! I have this experience in a few weeks time. So...any gossip? :p:

Hmmmm yes, but nothing very interesting I'm afraid, random pulling, clothes swapping and all that.

Quite proud of myself though, I'm handling my drink a lot better these days. But that was still only the 3rd time I've been drunk, the first being BCD which was utter carnage (had to be taken to my room, sick, refused to move, hungover horribly for the entire of the following day etc.) so overall an improvement! I also managed to aquire two ties, and even more impressively remember who I'd taken them from!

One of the people I do Brownies with came (Emma boatie) and in my drunkeness I ran into someone else who does Brownies with us from college en route to the bar, who took great pleasure yesterday telling me what a fool I'd made of myself when I excitedly talked to her. We went to Christ's film thing yesterday quite late, as we were leaving I mentioned I had to be up in less than 6 hours, she told me off for being a boatie ( ) and that after my state on Saturday that I deserved everything I got from rowing!

I went out subbing for our 6th VIII yesterday (nearly killed me!) so this morning was a wonderful outing in comparisson, bit cold though! We turned back at the P & E, when you can't see your coach let alone hear them or the cox you know it's not worth it!
We didn't even make it that far, we saw our uber hardcore mens' 1st IV coming home and thought we might as well too. Not a fun outing, in all. Freeeeeeeeezing.

Grrr, haven't done my work for repro supervision
DM super work, I'm doomed. So Jesus, won't you give me a hand and send me to hell?

I was advertising at the formal, and so why not stop there, I've just had it confirmed to me (so it's up on the website) that the Clare May Ball launch party is from 7:30pm Tuesday 22nd February at the River bar. There should be nibbles and probably drinks offers (there better be since it's the river bar lol) and lots of people you don't know, so bring friends and all come to the ball!

The temporary pre-launch site I've just updated with the info is here: www.claremayball.com . There are also photos from the last ball there. Oooh pretty, etcetera.

So come along, it'll make me happy, I'll be launching the ticket booking system from that midnight, but Clare students will have priority for a few days first, so you'll have to be quick after that.

We clearly have more experience given that we do it every year, and have lots of people from previous balls involved (two committee members from last year doing it again, me etc)...

In fairness all balls are pretty amazing, but we have the river and the best view of Trinity's fireworks
