My Oxford friend's maple didn't save me from disaster in the end, not completely anyway. He's done enough for me for one weekend. Can't thank him enough. And he was the one that was supposedly depressed... now he's trying to cheer me up. Such is friend.

Patch: I feel lucky.

Neither is funny out of context. Sometimes, they won't even be funny in the context. But it doesn't really matter.

According to Eddie, (I discover), if the Church of England did an Inquisition, it would be along the lines of: “You must have tea and cake with the vicar, or you die!!” ‘Cos, "Cake or death?" That's a pretty easy question. Anyone could answer that.

>"Cake or death?"
>"Eh, cake please."
>"Very well! Give him cake!"
>"Oh, thanks very much. It's very nice."
">You! Cake or death?"
>“Uh, cake for me, too, please."
>"Very well! Give him cake, too! We're gonna run out of cake at this rate. You! Cake or death?"
>"Uh, death, please. No, cake! Cake! Cake, sorry. Sorry..."
>"You said death first, uh-uh, death first!"
>"Well, I meant cake!"
>"Oh, all right. You're lucky I'm Church of England!"

It's now just become the classic Eddie Izzard fan-tag-line-type-thing, and is thus perpetually hilarious to anyone who understands the reference.

Why was it mentioned in the first place?

The Morse code message we had to decode yesterday. I got it just before 6 pm....

Has ventured rarely into other forums since last June. I like it here. This is my other home.

Must be going to bed. Thanks for points guys. I am either not going to make the shower tomorrow morning, or the lecture at 9am... or both.
