Erm, I think I know who she is, but I don't think I've ever spoken to her. Sorry. Am not really in with the choir crowd any more, not that I ever was

Her boyfriend came down in her dressing down several times to tell us off for being too loud in the TV room whilst I was somewhat drunk with some of Helen's year at the end of Mich, oops.

That's my only dealing with her and she's actually in my year

I have typed up some of my maths notes from this term... But I think I should stop now, it's taking too much time to do the pretty diagrams... I need some computer program generate me the "any" curve which live in the "any" field. Bah! Why doesn't maple come with the "any" function?
E=mc^(Hawking)

Stephen Hawking is cool!

Are you always this cheerful?

Life would be tragic if it weren't funny.

six hours in front of a computer....but are you actually working??

i've done four hours of physics writeup. it's so dull. i need alcoholic stimulation. might come back with a "chez comrade".

have any first yr natscis done the maths computing project? was the gain in mathcad twice that in excel or have i broken it?

I've done more than 6 hours work in front of a computer today, my project is finally doing something (very little-exchanging version numbers) but it's some progress at least.

Don't mention the maths computing project around me, for a compsci to lose a third of the marks for it is extremely extremely stupid. Still pisses me off now, I'd have a got a 2.i in the first year were it not for that :frown:

i've done the computing project and it worked fine for me....your gain should be just as the example sheets give (provided you use his test values)

and blurgh i dont wanna start that stupid head of class report, does it really take that long!? Which experiment are you writing up?

oh and i missed my discussion with my demonstrator....I managed to pick up my lab book and this little sheet saying which write up I had to do...is there anything else I need to do this write up?

That was stupid.

I think I did mine from about 5pm - 9pm, 10pm-1am, 8am-11am. Approx. Can't remember if I'd done anything on it before, don't think so, I did leave it till the last minute but it's pretty easy.

hey look i was...sleeping...ok....and i remembered what time it was, i just forgot what day it was! not as stupid as losing 2/3 marks on the computing project! HA!

I'm on the look out for a c copy of mathcad 12.1 which stupidly cost 1200 bucks! Why can't we just use maple to do that project instead :frown:. Oh Maple is just so much better when it comes to doing maths.

I can't start the project until I get back to cambridge. I left all my project/portfolio related material in some deserted supervision room for the holidays.

with his values it was fine, with my values the mathcad graph did something funny, meaning the gain was double that of excel.

i'm writing up the optics one. i actually stayed til the end, got a 4, and it's fresh in my sieve-like mind. to be honest i've almost finished now, took me a few days to get started, faffing around pretending i was doing something productive but once you sit down and actually do it, it hardly takes any time at all. the demonstrator reckoned it'd take two or three half days.

Am I the only one who doesn't have more than one 4 for the practicals? I am so used to write source code without comments, I guess that's the reason.

I'm doing the optics one as well... Electrical circuits make me want to vomit, even though I did claim to have liked DC circuit at one point...

To be fair, Willa is only half a compsci.
Someone kick some motivation into me... I'm bored...

Nope, hasn't helped.

I think I only got one 4, tbh amongst my friends it was always the girls who got all 4s. Must be more thorough or something, you don't seem to have to _understand_ to get a 4 it's just about writing EVERYTHING down neatly.

And, COMMENT YOUR CODE! Otherwise you'll be like me at the moment with five thousands lines of code you wrote over christmas with very little clue what it all does now and why you designed it like you did. It makes a lot harder to finish it and debug it!

I'm starting to document my code. I started off commenting on my function (in Pascal) in great details, describe what each parameter is and what the functions compute... in the end, I just can't be arsed to document all the **** if no one else is going to use it.

lucky you :frown:.

I'm typing up notes still... and it's not going to great. 1 week on I'm only 10 lectures through. Need to work faster if I want to get it done before I got back.
