summer holidays are the most unbearable holidays of any kind. I must find the will to learn more Java or any other programming languages before I totally go insane.

hehehe, I only started java at the start of our course and already my supervisor has given my name to someone who wants java programmers......I'm hopefully gonna meet with him this week. I really hope I have the skills they're after, this would be an awesome job for me, I really would enjoy it!!!!
Bothers. Leicester is such a crap place for hi tech jobs. I'm not going to live in this damned place next year.

Programming doesn't have to be compsci. My physics supervisor knows more about Linux than my friend and I merged together.

I suppose that's true. My bf is doing some hideously complex (read: dull) job involving a database lost in an old-fashioned computer an an unreadable form, and lots of C++ weirdness. But he's being paid £10 an hour to do it so I'm quite jealous!

Plus there aren't that many jobs around for undergrad physicists I suppose :wink:

yeah it's only a summer job. Just because I'm not doing compsci as a course doesnt mean I can keep it as a hobby (which I fully intended to all this time!)

WOOOHOO I bumped again! And tomorrow we looklike we're gonna bump as well! If that happens then it looks like that us, Cantabs 4, will have to try and bump Cantabs 3 for our blades! How tough is that gonna be!? But it will awesome if we do it, I really want blades. Our crew want it so bad that one of our rowers who was supposed to be leaving us from tomorrow onwards because he is best man and had to do a stag do or something has actually cancelled it apparently, because he really wants to row with us and try and get blades. That's how good we feel about this, we seem to be outclassing the boats around us, the only challenge is gonna be Cantabs 3. If we make the bump tomorrow, I almost feel like begging them to give us blades, I really dont want to have to row-over on the last day when we would have come so close!
