They've removed integration by parts? What else _is_ there in A-level Pure Maths?

Hyperbolic functions? Oh wait that was in P5. Does anyone know if that is still in the further maths A-level?

This is discusting. What is the education department doing?! We need a hardcore pure mathmo at the ministry of education. DM Unleashed!

Hehe that's working in East London though, take Shoreditch High street for instance, derelict boarded up buildings jostling with buildings with one bed flats for 200-250pw

It's all mad.

it still looks pretty much the same on the outside, except fewr broken windows and the "LUXURy" sign up.

We do live in a place where our county council headquarters are in a brewery...they still have the sign on the side advertising Home Ales except they changed "Ales" to the notts cc logo..

[disclaimer: i refer to the smaller HQ not county hall]

:hmmmm: there seems to be more stuff than I remembered it... right, expect to see my room covered in paper stuff soon.
I should stop watching news related to A'Levels... for obvious reasons. Not dumbed down... :hmpf:

I went to Waterstones 2.5 weeks ago on Monday with a friend. Flipped through all C modules of A'level Maths. Nope, Integration by Parts isn't there. And they turned the books colourful! Can you believe that?!! This is distasteful! Maths is meant to be black ink on white paper! Not pretty pink egg shaped things smudged all over blue-grindline sheets.

How the education minister got the idea that A'Level isn't dumbed down, I do not know. By this rate, 40+% will get it in a couple of years time. Oxbridge tutors will have bigger and bigger a headache when it comes to choosing potential freshers. I certainly won't want to work there if this carries on. I don't want head to hurt like hell once every year just before Christmas.

 disgraceful!

Iwas horrified to find that all my work for p1-3 is now stretched over c1-4 for the year 12s :frown:

It's stretched over c1-c4 and a bit. You forgot integration by parts isn't in the 4 modules.

any medics know how to relieve serious muscle stiffness? I've started my rowing training again but after two tough days I have the most stiff chest ever! I've tried deep heat but that hasn't helped, any idea if some ibuprofen will help or something similar?

Get someone light weight to stand on your chest and back. Probably will work. (I am serious, get your mum or siblings on it)

Ibuprofen, warm shower and then stretches. Get someone to massage if you can.

If you can have one, I reckon a soak in a warm bath is better than just a shower. YMMV though.

I've done integration by parts this year in C4 with AQA, but I'm agreed the Pure modules were much harder than the Core modules.
