No.
It's All Souls, I think.

argh, i suddenly feel alarmingly old now that i'm a second year, given that the reality that there will be people a whole year younger than me at emma has finally dawned on me. I wanna be a first year again, this isn't fair!
Did you do a gap year? If so, dude - there are going to be people two years (at least) younger than you.
Half way hall is coming up... :frown: I feel old...
dude, i degraded. I'll be having supervisions with first years...

no i didn't do a gap year. I'm actually quite young for my year (i got the youngest first boat rower jacket last year), it's not about how old i am physically, it's rather how old i am mentally now. Taking the youngest boatie jacket example I just gave....I can't ever have that jacket again now, that experience in life has past me by now. Likewise, I can't ever go to my first may ball, or experience my first may bumps, or do all sorts of other things for the first time. Obviously there are loads of things which I will get to do this year for the first time as well, but it still depresses me that that part of my life is already over!

edit: and bugger it appears my code may have caused my work server to overheat, so i now can't even distract myself by doing my job!
they asked me to quit uni and stay on at work today... lol. Like they seriously thought i'd even consider it!

Dude, last year you lot were two years younger than me (including the boy). This year there will be people three school years younger than me (I'm young for my year so not too many will be actually a whole three years younger). I just remember who was in that year at my school and can't believe they're coming to university!

And no, you won't get to do many things for the first time ever again, but some things do get better 2nd time around, and you should know that there's always so much in Cambridge it's impossible to have done everything
I went on a gap year. my friends from school seem to express enviousness because they want to be a fresher again.
is being a fresher THAT good? fill me in on the highlights :P
Someone has been using my IP for the last 15 minutes . I am so going to find out who this bastard is, once I do, I'll get Nigel to give him/her (although him is more likely) hell.
oops.

you know, when you're on a network, your IP as seen by the internet is often a shared one, in that all the people on the network appear to have the same IP, but rather it is the router that has the IP and knows where to send things. I severely doubt someone has been spoofing your IP from within the network!

DUDE! Windows complained about someone else was using my IP and can't get itself on the network. And my IP is what everyone else in this world sees. There's not another one.

Patch: 131.111.0.0 to 131.111.255.255 belong to cambridge, that's enough to give every computer in cambridge a unique IP.

that's not true, because my home network has at most 6 computers running on it at once, and yet all of them appear to be on the same IP address to outside destinations.

And if it's windows complaining about getting onto the network, are you sure it's not the MAC address, since the IP addresses are normally automatically designated. I doubt someone is using the same IP as you from within the network. If it is an IP issue I would have thought that would be an external server trying to see what your IP is.

Pembroke use static IP. visesh got into my computer a few days ago using the IP I gave him. And windows DID complain about IP and nothing else.

Try pinging sc455.pem.cam.ac.uk and you'll see my IP.
I can't get in now...
