Is anyone on hear an IT consultant? I am trying to research the job and I am looking for insight from any current or former people who have been in the role
Do you actually carry out the responsibilities on the Job description or is the role a lot more in-depth?

I think you need to be a bit more specific. There are various forms of IT consultants from small one man operations that offer training or consultancy on a range of specialist or broader fields. Then there are the larger organisations who will offer consultancy to businesses wanting to use technology to improve a certain aspect of their business or productivity. But primarily, a consultant is someone who offers advice and guidance to a business for a fee. But that can vary massively.
