    Hi All,

For school I must think of an outside the box secondary school initiative wich can improve pupils experiences at my school which I can lead on but I cant think of any inventive ideas. Please could you give me some creative school initiative ideas which can improve pupils experiences at my school?
    Thank You

What sort of initiative are you looking for?

There's a whole bunch of suggested changes to teaching/extra support listed here: https://educationendowmentfoundation...arning-toolkit
These might be worth looking into if you're wanting to improve the learning at your schools. Something like a mentoring scheme: https://educationendowmentfoundation...kit/mentoring/ or special group classes/projects on "learning to learn" https://educationendowmentfoundation...lf-regulation/ have a lot of evidence to show they're very effective at improving results.

Or are you looking at something more physical? Maybe an art project or a mural to brighten up a neglected corner of the school (or school grounds) and create a nice area to relax or study?

Or maybe something cultural? You could set up a club or group to get involved with putting on plays or shows or producing arts and crafts - or a book club to read specific books and talk about them together. Think about how you can get people involved who wouldn't normally be particularly academic.

Or you could go for something community based: put together some groups to volunteer locally, create a competition for people to give their time (each class could be a "team" and the class that volunteers the most over a school year gets a special prize or a trip). Or maybe you could work on something to bring the school together as a community? Or a way to improve relationships between pupils and teachers.

Ideally you need to figure out something that you would be interested in doing (because no initiative will work if you aren't motivated to see it through) that would be well received by enough people in the school to succeed.
