Were they accepted? You could also just put water I assume?

Hydroxide was apparently wrong, only water in the mark scheme i think.

Has Limestone ever been one the past papers as a 6 marker? I really hope it comes up tomorrow.

They were looking for water. Extra information accepted hydrogen oxide. 'Hydroxide' was not accepted.

I have never seen it appear as a six mark question.

I'm good with balancing equations and have a fond memory of the periodic table. For the big 6 markers however (these are marked with a * in this post), I feel you need a good enough understanding of it that you could literally tell someone "on the spot" how it works. Memorizing all the chemical terms: ("Thermal decomposition*(For calcium carbonate), React, Reduction, Distillation*, Fractional Distillation*, Bonds, Molecules, Compounds,Soluble,Solvent,Solution, reactant, product, electron configuration...many more but I will leave you to revise those), and this is how I would imagine the 6 markers would work best, anyway. Keeping it succinct is always a good idea too.
