    Does anyone have an unofficial mark scheme or is willing to make one for the AQA ICT GCSE exam that took place today?

    Potential health problems : stress, eye problems, wrist problems (RSI), back and neck problems and tripping over cables. (Other acceptable answers may be included.)
    How to alleviate these problems: take breaks, appropriate lighting, eye tests, use of wrist rests and other devices, use adjustable seating and set monitor heights, footstools and other devices, avoid hazards, safe positioning of hardware/potential hazards.

    The exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material.
    Which one of the following is NOT a type of software?
    Disk-defragmentation software.
    What is the function of RAM?
    Random Access Memory is volatile memory, its a fast temporary memory in which programs (applications and data) are stored, for example: The operating system, Applications, Graphical User Interface (GUI)
    What is the function of ROM?
    Read Only Memory is non volatile memory which cannot be changed by a program or user. ROM retains its memory even after the computer has been powered off. ROM stores the instructions for the computer to start up when its turned on again.
    What type of chart is shown in the diagram?
    Pie Chart
    How could the chart be improved?
    Adding labels (fields)
    An Online Data Collection Form (DCF) is a type of data collection method, name two other ways in which data can be collected.
    Data Can be collected via surveys, questionnaires, interviews, voice recognition, chip and PIN, bar code readers, magnetic stripe cards, OMR, biometrics and RFID tags.

    The practice in an office of allocating desks to workers when they are required or on a rota system, rather than giving each worker their own desk.

    Essentially word processing software deals with text documents where as DTP software deals with text and graphic publications.

    What are the 2 control outputs of the Control - feedback loop?
    1. When the light intensity is low, the light intensity would be increased.
    2. When the light intensity is high, the light intensity would be decreased.
    What is meant by 'Fit for purpose'?
    Any data has a purpose to exist. You do not store data just for the sake of it. So the data must be put together in such a way that it fulfills its purpose. I.E is the document/information created, suitable for the intended audience, does it meet the purpose for why it was created.
    What is meant by printer buffer?
    A printer buffer is a temporary storage area that holds the data or documents to be printed by the printer. It is created and managed by the operating system or printing management software to enable storing print jobs data when multiple print jobs are assigned to a computer printer.
    What is an advantage of teleworking for a company
    Office running costs and overheads (rates, electricity, heating etc) can be reduced, which in turn may reduce the need for office space.
    What is a disadvantage of teleworking for a company?
    Employers need to be able to trust their staff and be prepared to have less direct control over them.
    What is an advantage of teleworking for an employee?
    Work in a comfortable environment - their home, no commute or travel costs.
    What is a disadvantage of teleworking for an employee?
    less human interaction - fewer opportunities to meet people, share ideas with etc. Difficult to separate personal life from work.

    I personally think that the grade boundaries will be high, so judging on last years paper and other previous grade boundaries my estimate for a B would be about
    60-70 marks
