Was the question about what colour it changes to was it green?

Colorless. Clear and transparent will likely get you no marks.

1)
Draw the diagram - 2 on the inner shell, 3 on the outershell
a) i) Proton, Neutrons - Neutrons neutral charge, Protons +1 charge (mis-read and wrote about electrons :frown: )
a) ii) Got 8 on its outer shell, doesen't have 1 blah blah.

2) a) i0 20.3

Black - incomplete combustion/zoot C
Hexane - more flammable, less smoke, and it produced more energy.

3) Thermal decomposition, Copper Oxide

Which exam board is this for?

Question 1
nucleus( 1 mark)
( +1), electrons( -1), neutron is uncharged( 3 marks)

Do you think i'd get the marl for saying protons are positive and neutrons are neutral?

Pretty certain it must be +1 and 0.

Um the question on recycling, reusing and landfill.
Recycling is used to save raw materials...

I'll add that in  I talked about saving energy and reducing fossil fuels
Original post by lunaticash19995
No i believe it was talking about z which was the nucleus

It was the nucleus, so protons and neutrons. NOT electrons.

and do you think you had to include a disadvantage of reusing materials? I listed 3 disadvantages of landfill or something :s-smilie:

I did, I said landfill-destroying habitats, pollution
reusing-uses weak materials, unsafe
recycling- saves raw materials

Any other questions?

Soot is produced due to incomplete combustion
(just trying to remember questions to help  )

AQA
For the question with cracking I said that the hydrocarbons are vaporised
Then passed over a hot catalyst like aluminium oxide

I think so because I remember the question saying give 3 reasons why the car is reused and not recycled or sent to landfill sites.

Yeah I got that I think  think I need about 5 more marks
Reply 51
6 marker:

- Hydrogen + oxygen produces only water
- Petrol produces CO2 --> global warming
- Petrol produces SO2 --> acid rain, damage engine
- N and O from air react in petrol engine --> NO2 and NO --> Hazerdous to health
- Petrol from crude oil --> Non renewable
- Hydrogen can be produced from electrolysis of water --> Renewable
- Hydrogen releases more energy per g burnt --> Better fuel, more efficient
- Hydrogen stored as explosive gas --> Safety issues

Were some more but I can't recall them all at this time
Only got 19 marks so far.

Recycling can be more costly due to the process of eliminating impurities. Wasn't question what was the pros and cons of REUSING not recycling?

Reusing means no more land fill mass will accumulate. No process of purifying the substance. Less cost in reusing.

The cons I can't remember what I wrote at the moment!

Which ones? Boundaries will be high for this one

It was give three reasons why the car body is recycled instead of being sent to a landfill site or reused

no the question was give 3 reasons why the car is recycled and not reused or sent to landfill sites.

I only just realised. Thank you

I'm sure it was the benefits of recycling compared to reusing and landfill sites. :beard:
Q5 on hardening oils: Might also be marks available for mentioning that unsaturated fats have double carbon carbon bonds and hydrogenation breaks these bonds to lower melting point

Definitely recycling, not reusing.
