    The graph shows the output voltage of a rectifier circuit.

    smoothing capacitors in power supplies work by charging up quickly and discharging slowly.

    the load needs to have a fairly high resistance compared to the resistance of the circuit charging the capacitor.
    you can infer diodes because of the rectifier waveform - because of the diodes current can't flow back into the AC part of the power supply circuit.
