# Vector Questions on an incline Watch

1. If an object is sitting on an incline is it the component of the weight that it it perpendicular (vertical) to the ramp that brings it down the ramp or the component of the weight that is parallel to the ramp (horizontal)?

There is no component of weight horizontally, it Only acts downwards, the component of the weight that brings it down is Weight sin theta where theta is the angle of the incline ie the component of weight acting parallel to the slope, this is not horizontal.
