really like my flat mates but i think if i live with them in 2nd year they will be a big distraction for me as i am easily distracted. First year has consisted of me going out multiple times a week and i don't want to be living that same lifestyle next year. really not sure how to tell them as they have become great friends of mine and don't want to upset them but i do need to focus on myself more next year. HELP ME PLS

Honestly the best thing would be just to be straight with them. If you are good friends and tell them in a respectful way, it shouldn't be too much of a issue. The only times I've seen issues happen is when one side hasn't been straight up with another. But just to be sure, are you completely confident you don't want to live with them? Do you have somewhere else settled and couldn't you just commit to going out less? If you are sure about this, maybe talk to one of them you feel the most confident with and explain the situation to them. Then that might take the pressure off and make it easier to tell the others.
