Basically when I was doing my chemistry exam yesterday I misread the question. Instead of putting the word equation for water I put the symbol equation. It was only after the exam when I was talking to my friends that I realised I wasn't meant to do that. Do you think I would still get the mark for putting the symbol equation instead of the word equation?
My exam boards edexcel and I'm pretty sure the symbols I wrote for the equation was correct I just don't know if I'll still get the marks because I misread the question.
Would I still get the mark? Watch

It depends on what the mark scheme says. From experience, I found that if the question says you have to do something in a certain way e.g. answer to 2dp or write the FORMULA instead of the name or the NAME instead of the formula etc. then that is the only way to get the mark. SOMETIMES they will allow it, but I wouldn't count on it. Good luck
