How does the voting process go for the referendum? Watch

    I get that we all go to vote etc, but is it like the general election where they base it on each area counting for essentially 1 vote, or do they just try to count them all up and at the end of the day it look something like 15.2m:18.3m? Sorry if I haven't worded this well.

    It'll almost certainly be counted up in the same way the AV referendum was. They'll count each region separately, then add up the vote counts from each area to get a national total. So it's not like the general election where your vote only counts towards your local MP, this time around all votes from across the entire country are counted together to get the result.
