Civil service - standard DBS check or enhanced?

Hi all,
I am looking for a job in the civil service after taking a masters in public policy. I have two questions:
1. Do you know if a standard DBS check is run or an enhanced one?
2. Is it possible to obtain information about what will turn up on a DBS check before handing one to an employer?

I have had minor run-ins with the police (no cautions or above, but a reprimand and one or two warnings) before so this is a source of worry for me.
