Is it also worth mentioning POSSIBLE prospective work experience... I'm applying for some on a scheme... but you have to pass a few numerical tests interviews etc to get a place
applications start in Nov and UCAS will be off by then...I won't know if i have a place?

While I understand the 'dog eat dog' mentality of lawyers, I kind of hope you get caught.

Certainly if you get caught lying once qualified (if you chose to work in the legal field) I'm sure that the Law Society or the Bar Council wouldn't be impressed!

I wouldn't brag about it either, if you do go down that route... It only takes one disgruntled peep to make a complaint about you and you could be out. This is something I have heard a lot of....

Obtaining goods by deception - not a great thing for a legal CV :wink: :smile:

At least I should have done some WE before my interviews though - which is the most critical thing.

I have heard horror stories about people being caught out in interviews - although this doesn't exactly cover people in glory (when it comes to the impressions of the interviewers), it doesn't result in a criminal record.

It's not my fault anyway, it's the fault of an oversubscribed system which has to result to overbearing methods of candidate selection. I think that candidates who fabricate/inflate parts of their PS are by no means anomalies.

The people who I would be most worried about are those who lie outright about their grades and academic achievements - which is the most significant factor on the application. Why should I be discriminated against because my school/parents don't know a Senior Partner of Slaughter & May?

I really wish work experiance was done later than yr10...although I know that it isn't pratical, especailly for those who are leaving after GCSE's and need the experiance.

It's just at that point in time, I'd convinced myself I'd be working in an office all my life, so I might as well get some office experiance. Now I want to do something more science related, I wish I could have got some experiance in a lab.

It's easier for some people, I know someone who is getting a lot of medically related W.E; but that's only because her mother has links in the community. Places seem less likely to take you unless you have school involved.

I'm hoping to get some W.E at my local pharmacy [I'll probably be able to do it through school if I can pass it off as 'community service']

I don't think there's too much wrong with bending the truth a little - like AT - but outright lying is wrong.

No excuse! My dad works for the post office and my mum is a waitress. Didn't stop me getting a tonne of work experience by sustained effort...

It's true!

Aided by the fact our main server is down, so no one can access their personal areas on the network, nor e-mail! To say there isn't a lot of working going on here at the moment would be an understatement!

The good old days of slacking in school :cool: {lies back and enjoys the holidays}

I would never ever lie on my PS. If I got in because of a lie, I wouldn't deserve my place and I would have deprived someone who did deserve it of a place.
