I'm stuck on answering the following questions:

Suggest explanations for these results of the Geiger-Marsden experiment:

a)Most of the alpha particles passed straight through the foil.
    b)Some alpha particles were deflected.
c)A few alpha particles rebounded from the foil.

I'm looking in the textbook and there's no information which could be useful to help me answer these, please help. Thank you.

You can find these answers in the A2/igcse physics textbook!

a)Most of the alpha particles passed straight through the foil. - THE ATOM IS MOSTLY EMPTY SPACE.
b)Some alpha particles were deflected. - THE NUCLEUS IS CHARGED (never say whether it is +ve or -ve)
c)A few alpha particles rebounded from the foil. - THE NUCLEUS IS DENSE / MASS IS CONCENTRATED TO A SMALL POINT IN THE ATOM
