I'm looking to do my dissertation on the creation of a literary world (Middle Earth, Discworld, Wizarding World). I just don't know what to focus on or how to narrow the idea down.
Can anyone give me any tips?

Well what kind of fantasy worlds do you like? Do you like mythology words like Thor's folklore and Percy Jackson series, or do you like outta space worlds like Cloud Atlas or Dark Eden?

You can either do your dissertation on many worlds or just focus on one.

I personally don't know what you can focus on. Maybe focus on setting or maybe compare it to historical places? So for instance, if you were going to do mythology worlds, compare Percy Jackson's to Ancient Greece and etc?

But your dissertation is something peculiar. So I'm struggling to help you. Interesting topic though!

Have you found a supervisor who has agreed with this topic?
