    I turning on the out side...

    summery
    -> fish industry powerless and declined rapidly
    -> unelected, unknown presidents, you knew there was 3?
    -> universities, companies, charities get money from EU giving.
    -> Germany had a veto on our EU deal so Cameron had to give up some
    -> Before WWI UK made 60% of ships in the world, unregulated and created the modern capitalist system
    -> Regulations came in heavily at WWI, then stayed, not in EU
    -> Privatised
    -> Joined Europe and now their repeating history
    -> If UK leaves, regulations will go

    The EU has changed a lot and has lost it's initial meaning. I definitely see a future threat if we remain in the EU as we may lose are independence if we don't vote out now.

    Isn't that something to do with overfishing? On all sides?

    Ever heard of the unelected quango? There are tens of them in the UK running public services and organisations with no accountability.

    That is part of the process. The UK has also used its veto. Thank goodness we have a veto. Once out of the EU, we have to take on the chin anything they fire at us with no recourse. If we join the common market (at a cost of around what we already pay) we have no say in policy or trade deals and are still bound by the same rules we currently have. i.e. we are no better off with less influence in how rules are created.

    And now, most of the ships are build in the East where labour costs a fraction of that here. Would you like wages cut by 80%

    Such regulations were things like the right to a paid holiday, health and safety at work i.e. you have the right not to die on a job as thousands did in Victorian times. I am yet to hear of a single EU regulation / red tape that people disapprove of.
