Hi, I am worried im not going to get accepted for vet nursing at uni. I completed a l2 diploma in animal care at D* and then I went onto do the L3 extended diploma in animal management which I got DDD in. I also have a years work experience at a vets and a year experience at a cattery however I don't have the GCSE science they are asking for. Is there any point in me applying?

    Hi Holliepolly,

Firstly, congratulations on doing to well in your diplomas. Generally it is really not advisable to apply to courses where you don't meet all of the GCSE requirements, as for competitive courses like vet nursing they often use grades as they first way of whittling down the applicant pool. However since the rest of your application is up to scratch I would advise contacting the universities themselves and asking whether they would consider your application, before you send it off. If possible I would advise emailing rather than phoning, as that way you'll have written evidence of what you're told.

Hope that helps and good luck with your potential future application
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
