I've been doing old past papers but I have noticed that most questions on the new specimen paper are harder and worded completely differently . I'm scared and confused as I think I'll do terrible is the real exam gonna be THAT hard i retook a year which was the WORSE choice I ever made. I hate the new spec

Yeah this new spec is awful! I'm doing ocr and on the old spec past papers I'm getting just short off full marks and on breadth in chemistry I'm really struggling

I'm finding that the specimens are a lot more difficult as well, but I wouldn't worry too much because at GCSE I remember I felt the same way and the exams weren't too bad

im in the same position but an upper sixth told me that the paper might not be as hard as the specimen paper to keep peeps using that exam board and to make sure that the results dont look bad as it would reflect badly on the reforms.

Are you talking about OCR Chemistry B (Salters)?

I'm in a2 doing ocr but imo, specimen papers are ALWAYS harder. You're all in the same boat with limited papers from the exam boards. The best you can do is work from the list in the specification and go into the exam with confidence. May also help doing questions in the book to help you intergrate your knowledge. Easier said than done but good luck

The grades profile will be the same this year as last year, i.e. if 8% got an A* last year, then 8% will get an A* this year; and so on.

This is the first year that they have implemented this new spec so they might have mercy on us on the Grade Boundaries?
If a lot of people are f***
