Bearing in mind that I am coming to the end of year ten, so have a year left to go.

Why do you keep making threads about this?
If you work hard, then yes, it is possible to exceed your predicted grades.

    I would say no.

I was predicted awful grades by my teachers back in GCSE. For example, I was predicted a C in Maths, I got an A*.

I was predicted 8A*s and 3As. I achieved 3Cs. Make of this what you will

Not unusual at all. But it's all well and good people telling you that, but if you don't put in the effort to exceed your predicted/target grade then it won't happen.

    No.

I have long suspected that teachers (at least at my school) predict you low grades to make you up the game.

It worked a treat for me.

My physics teacher tried to convince me to do the foundation paper at one point then I went and got an A.

Generally I've found that teachers telling me I'm going to do terribly is a great motivator.

I think it spammed or something and posted like three identical threads. Idek. I put one thread about this in the 'chat' section and another thread about this in the 'GCSE' section.

Teachers at my school put our predicted grades as something that we will definitely achieve, ie one grade lower than they actually think, just to be on the safe side. So no, it's not unusual.
