For Section A (the first question you'll answer) there are 3 parts a b and c.
For part a it is worth 8 marks so I'd recommend 4 basic PEE paragraphs, nothing too detailed here but you need to expand a lil bit.
For part b it is worth 12 marks so I'd recommend 5-6 PELE paragraphs with a bit more detail that for part a, and you need language features this time. Always relate back to question!!
For part c it's worth 16 marks and you need to find your own extract. Try not to spend too long on this as this section is worth the most marks! I'd recommend writing the same amount as for part b, so 5-6 PELE paragraphs. Although try and make them really really good with lots of detail. You're advised to spend one hour on this section.

For section B (the second question) you only answer one question and it only has one part.
In this one it's worth 46 marks and you get 24 for your writing and how it links to the question etc, 16 for writing about the social and historical context and how that links to the novel, and 6 for SPAG. For this I'd recommend writing an introduction, 4-5 PELE paragraphs that are very detailed, linking to context in every one, and a brief conclusion. You're advised to spend 45 minutes on this section.

Yeah I don't see why not.
Some people might see it as better because it shows that you can be perceptive which will push you into the top band
