    So,

I created a thread on a forum (how to get into careers without a degree) and on another forum I also created the same thread and I believe they thought I copied and pasted this thread onto the forum (from the other forum which I created that thread in the first place) which made it seem I was telling a lie to them.

Can they contact the police for such an issue for what they perceive to be as false information?

I tried to locate the thread in the forum however, I believe they deleted it. I'm not sure if the mods on the forum can regain a thread what they have deleted.

The police are not going to be interested in if you copied a thread from another forum or not.
