Hi There! Mitosis is cell division in diploid cells (46 chromosomes). Mitosis divides 1 diploid cell into 2 'new' ones. Where as meiosis is the cell division of haploid cells (sex sells, 23 chromosomes e.g. sperm and eggs cells) Divides one diploid cell twice, to result in 4 new haploid cells ( all new cells contain half as many chromosomes as the original ) hope this helps !! good luck!
