    Hello Goldy69,

I considered going to AFC Harrogate (to join the Paras) in 2014, I got through selection but my medical prevented me from joining. AFC Harrogate is for people aged 16-18 years old that want the military life without committing to it for the rest of your life. My cousin went and left after his training, he enjoyed his experience but always wanted that little bit more. Now he is training to become a Nurse. AFC Harrogate is a fantastic establishment that builds an individual up and turns you into a Soldier. You get paid a decent wage for a 16-18 year old. You will enjoy it, as long as you put the effort in and prove to your DS that you are worth it, then you will fly through the course.

Now that I reflect on it, the fact that I did not pass my medical was great for me because I am going to University September and it has changed my life. Ensure that you really want to go, as something better may be waiting for you down the line.

    Hope this has helped.
