Say if someone was to not get great AS results this year (they don't count), but would have fantastic GCSEs. It is likely that they could get into somewhere like Oxbridge for Medicine if they would get better A-levels?

    Anyone have experience of this?

its hard to have experience since this year will be the first ones to experience this new system, but from what i know as grades show a very good indication to them or at least did for the previous years obviously. what as grades are you expecting? Almost everyone applying there will have excellent gcse grades, so the as grades will be used a lot for comparison amongst other things, but then again because of the new system they may take it into account.
