I was just wondering about those who are wanting to do medicine and chose for their A level options along with Biology and Chemistry.
I want to go to UCL who say they prefer one alternative subject (to maths/science) which is fine since I'm choosing Biology, Chemistry, Physics and History, however, many of the successful applicants take Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths which doesn't contain any alternative subjects. Why's that?

What are your guys' A level choices and what Unis are you considering?

    Hi

I've asked for this to be moved to the Medicine forum. Have a look around the forum - there are stickies and other information threads and links that will help you find other applicants and understand more about medicine admissions.

The UCL website does not appear to state that, and a preference is not a mandatory requirement.

It's the difference between cause and correlation. It's not a case of people getting in because they've done those subjects but more that it's a popular combination of subjects (and a lot of people linger under the false impression that maths is a required subject) and people who are interested in medicine generally have an interest in/talent for maths and science.
