I am a final year student at the university of Nottingham.

Although my first two years at university were relatively stress free, other than what I believe students generally feel at university.

Now I am in my third year, I have really been struggling with anxiety, especially when it comes to exams, and as a result, have consistently been having panic attacks and sickness in exams. I have recently been prescribed medication for this.

I the first of my final exams, I was caught with revision notes on me. I had no intention of using these and had simply forgotten to get rid of them.

During the exam, I repeatedly went to the toilet in order to vomit, and after doing this the second time, the invigilator noticed the notes in my pocket. They have reported my for academic misconduct to my school, from which I received an email today, stating I would be invited to an email in a week or so.

What should I expect in this interview, and what would be the likely outcome of this situation? I have never been reported for academic misconduct before, for any reason, including plagiarism.

I am worried that, being in my final year, I may end up failing to get the degree.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I personally have no experience of this at all, so can't give any solid advice, but I'd say the best you can do in this scenario is tell them exactly what happened, even show them your medication, maybe a doctors note, and hopefully they see that it all lines up with you just having anxiety, and not going off to read your notes.
