here is the letter i received, im 19 going to uni this year and my parents earn around 22k combined supporting me and my 2 siblings. How much will be actually getting yearly? £8481? It seems a bit high compared to what my friends got and im worried I gave them the wrong info by mistake or is that a normal amount for our household income?

Looks about right for the maximum Maintenance Loan (studying outside London, living away from home during term-time). Run it through the calculator for yourself:

Thx for the response. So the £8481 will be to pay for my accommodation and the left over after the accommodation is paid is for everyday things etc?

Essentially, yes. Once you have the money, you can do what you like with it. You could use it to buy a llama and take unicycling lessons if you wanted, but the reality is that most students will need it for rent, travel, eating and living expenses
