Ok so basically I used to live in London when I was younger and absolutely loved it but family moved out for several reasons (money being one factor).

I'll be finishing my A-Levels next summer and despite getting decent grades (2a*, 5a, 4b at GCSE and predicted ABB at A level), I don't think uni is for me.

Now that the time has come to start planning careers etc. I know I need to get my sh*t sorted out.

I am thinking of looking at an apprenticeship in technology and would love to find something in London as that is second to none for this industry. I've run a web design/development business for the past few years which has supported me well financially, however I am now coming to see the downsides of not having a 'normal' job r.e. getting references etc.

I have two questions I guess:
    1) Is it possible to live on an apprenticeship in London with wages of approx. £250-300 per week?
    2) Does anyone know of any larger companies that offer apprenticeships in tech?

    Any help is much appreciated,

You could try companies like Deloitte or KPMg, they often run schemes like that for people who don't want to go to uni but I'm not too sure about the details.

Thanks for the tip-off. I'm assuming those salaries would be once the apprenticeship is completed?

Not bad Just wandering how 'interesting' it might be in the civil service as opposed to private sector...
