Can someone please explain how to work out part two of question 6 from the Jan 2010 S1 MEI paper - http://www.mei.org.uk/files/papers/s110ja_4766rev.pdf

The answer is 20^3 - 20 but I don't get why?
How many ways are there for the same student to receive all three prizes? How many ways are there for the prizes to be distributed in total? Now subtract the first from the second.
