Hello there. I am an international prospect student of UKC. Currently, I am considering to purchase a bike for my transportation around the university and to commute to the Canterbury city centre. I would like to know are there lots of spaces to park bikes and is Canterbury itself a friendly city for people who bike?

I'm actually in Kent's library right now. Whenever I walk through everyone is riding their bikes lol and there's plenty of places for them to be locked up and is probably beneficial to ride them into Canterbury but you may have trouble riding back (up the hill on to campus). However, the buses come quite frequently and during the night as well. I'd say it will be worth bringing one

Don't trust them, they're Southern. They will probably steal your bike.

So will it be worth it to purchase a bike to cycle my way to UKC back and forth?

I'd consider the routes carefully as there's a lot of hill to the uni of Kent although once on campus it's fine
