None of the lecture slides content or case studies are original - they're just copied directly from the text book. Why?
Lectuers must be highly intelligent and I'm paying 9k so why can't they teach from their own words?

    Who wrote the book?

Often it was somebody actually in ( or was in) the department so the whole course can be based on the research of that department

as someone said, your lecturer might have been involved with the writing of the book (or know someone who was)

it's also possible they've been drafted in to teach something which isn't their subject area and need some extra structure to make sure you're taught adequately
