I got like 13 for the perimeter.. with a really long decimal of 5 for the radius

You were told that the area of the sector equalled the area of the shaded reigon.
Logic dictates that the area of the sector = 0.5* the area of the triangle
so 0.5 rsquared theta = 9.95
and solve from there to find r
The perimeter was equal to 5 + r(theta) + (8-r) + (9-r)
The end value was 13.7 or 13.8
