I am currently doing my third year dissertation in Biochemistry. I am doing a Lab project and have 1 and a 1/2 more weeks to complete the project and write everything up.

However, all of my cells keep dying due to what is most likely a phage contamination and that means that I currently can't do the main experiment that my whole dissertation is based on.

Worst case scenario I wont be able to complete the project and won't have anything of substance to write in the results or discussion section of my report. its not about having bad results, I could write about them, its about literally having NO RESULTS. and considering results and discussion are 60% of my overall grade its a pretty important part.

Has this happened to anyone else? I need to know what to put in the results and discussion really when the only information I have is:" all of my cells kept dying and I wasnt able to do the experiment" ...
