Gap Year help

I have applied and got my place at university, but am having second thoughts and thinking about having a gap year/travelling/working abroad. Maybe not even for a year but just for a period of time.

Where is a good place to go which is cheap and gives you somewhere where you are able to work and earn a bit of money?

do camp america!
some places pay for your flight over there and back, they provide food and you stay at the camp and work with the kids during the summer. (obviously you get paid) since you're out there, it might be worth staying in the us for a bit?
do a bit of research and see if it's something you'd be up for doing
