AS Level Chemistry help

In what order, in terms of sub-shells, will the first five electrons of Aluminium be removed?
3p 3s 3s 2p 2p
or
3p 3s 2p 2s 1s
From my chemistry knowledge I was confident in it being the first one, since the electronic configuration is ...2p6 3s2 3p1 so it would make sense why I thought that, but I don't understand why it's the latter. I have a feeling I'm right and the answer section is wrong however if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

I believe it's to do with mutual repulsion within the electron SUB SHELLS . I will try get an 100% answer for you!
