    Hi,

I'm currently on a leave of absence (2015/16) and will be returning to University in September, during the process of applying for funding for next year (2016/17) I realised that I have an application in for 2015/16 despite not submitting this myself.

Apparently they sent me a declaration form to fill in, but I have not been at my home address since arranging this leave of absence with my university, and so have not signed nor submitted it.

As I have not submitted the declaration, and therefore have not received any of the loan, will this count towards my eligible years?

I ask this because I will be returning to study to resit year 2, and then go on to do year 3 of a BEng course in 2017/18, and if this counts as a year of my eligibility it will put me over the 4 year limit when it comes to my final year.

    Thanks,
    Kane.

It's worth ringing to make sure that there have been no mix ups but your university should have informed SFE/SLC that you weren't at university this academic year. That plus the fact that you didn't get any money should mean SFE know you've only had 1 year of finance so far.
