So I am currently doing my GCSE's and basically. I feel as if I have already thrown away my dream of studying at Manchester University or any other Russel Group University for that matter.

When choosing my GCSE's , I was advised to do harder GCSE's as they mean more, but I worry that my low grades are going to hinder my chances.

These are the grades I assume that I will get :
    Maths - A*
    History - A*
    Computing - A
    English Language - A
    English Literature - A
    Physics - B
    Biology - B
    Chemistry - B
    French - B

As you can see I am very one sided with my grades. I am taking Maths Stats, History, Economics and Computer Science for A Level. I know I need around AAB for the courses I want to do, but have my GCSE's already ruined that for me?

Any advice would be great, thank you!

Universities don't really care about your GCSEs as long as you get 5 A*-C including English and Maths. That is, unless you're planning on applying to Oxbridge or doing a really popular course like medicine. However, if you thing those grades are bad you really need to re-evaluate your expectations. It would help to know what course you think you might do, although I understand if you're not sure yet.

Don't worry about Uni while you're still at school. Just work hard, don't get burnt out and make sure that if you have a specific course in mind, you pick the required A-levels.
