I've firmed Aston next year and I was wondering what the timetable was like for first years. I'm asking this as I want to know how many contact hours you have per week and how many days you will need to be in. I'm considering getting a part time job and I'd like to know how often I'd be expected to be in uni. I'm commuting from home by the way.

The rejected me because I had not provided them with the additional info required before the deadline. Thing was they had not asked me they needed more info!

Then they didn't respond to my email after I had sent them That i didnt get an email from them

I'm sorry that happened to you! You can't base an entire uni's reputation on just your experience though, that's unfair. It's also not relevant to my question

Hey OP Glad to meet a chemist, there aren't that many of us at Aston. You will have a relatively busy timetable, especially with labs, but that clears up a little, you'll finish early on a wednesday or perhaps get the day off, depending.

Any questions at all, don't hesitate

Thanks very much for your reply! That's helpful. Is it generally early starts too? Like 9am starts?

Some 9am lectures, yep. Your labs will definitely be at 9am and you can't miss them without reason (it's a pain)
