I haven't applied for the Summer Fund but I did submit an application for the Denis Turner fund this academic year. I spent 6 months jumping through hoops, supplying ever increasing detail about my income and expenditure (and that of my husband as I'm a married mature student with children).

The verdict - they believe that I am am being underpaid by SFE and therefore awarded me £50. SFE disagree so loan/childcare element unchanged.

I remain broke as hell and I am in two minds as whether to invest further time and printing credit into applying again. The summer fund would be applicable to me though as I have secured a placement relevant to my course but the childcare and travel costs are going to make it prohibitively difficult. So I may give it a bash when I summon up the will.

like how far did they think that was going ro get us? took me 5 months to get that due to the same hoop jumping.

i wont be able to claim anything over the summer holidays and they say the summer fund opens in june? y? when my placement started straight after may exams!
