I slightly missed part of my Cambridge offer. I was asked to get 95 in CS and math in my final exams. I got a 96 in CS but a 92 in math.
I still have to give the STEP exam where I have to get 1,2 in STEP II,III. I'm pretty confident I can manage a S,1.
Can doing well on STEP make up for scoring low in my math final?
I also have a 5 on the Calculus AP which is given as a condition for US students. Should I email the admissions about this so they might waive the math condition and use my AP scores?

Oxford and Cambridge usually offer slightly more places than they have, so whether or not you'll get away with missing your offer depends on if more people missed their offer than the extra buffer of offers they made (which is likely), and whether you're at the top of those people who missed their offer (possible).

Yes, doing well in STEP could make up for it.

I think it is very likely they would let you in with S, 1 in STEP. I think you should definitely email the admissions tutor for your college telling them you have AP Calculus (if they don't already know that) but I wouldn't ask them about whether they will waive the other maths condition until after you have all your results (presumably August 18th) as that is when they will make all decisions about letting in people who have slightly missed their offers.

I will eat my hat if S,1 doesn't earn you a place.
