So, I'm in Year 11 and taking a brief break from the GCSE revision to consider what to do over the lovely long summer break. I feel like I really want to make use of the time I have available and do something useful before starting A levels, so I was considering getting some work experience. The main problem is that I still don't really have much of a plan for the future beyond the next few years, so it might not be that relevant. I have volunteering experience from the past few years, but it would be great to get something extra...A lot of people I know are thinking about this now, otherwise it would be too late to find anything. I really don't want to end up wasting this opportunity, as I have around 7-8 weeks with currently no plans at all.
    Any ideas?
Thanks for reading all of that, any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm in year 11 too and I'm in the same boat at you. I have asked my teachers at school if any there are any opportunities and they have found me work experience at a hospice. What I'm trying to say is perhaps ask your teachers. I also recommend finding a part time job in anything you like. That can be considered as a work experience as well.

By the way, what a- levels are you planning to take? Perhaps that would help you find a suitable work experience.

    Hope that helps!

what courses at university are you planning to do?
course specific work experience for medicine or law or general volunteering is probably the best
