Joining the RAVC

Hi

I have a couple questions about joining the Veterinary Corps as a Dog Handler and would like to know:

Where is Basic and Continuation training and how to ace the careers office interview?

Hi, I trust you've checked the Army careers page relating to the RAVC and roles. All you need to know is there, and if it isn't there's a live chat number to call. TBH that is your best bet to ask questions about what are very specialist roles. I very much doubt that any contributors on the TSR Armed Forces threads have any supplementary information to help you. (may be wrong, I was once)

In terms of interviews, if I was the other side of the table, I'd be wanting to know (as very basic information):
i. Why do you want to join the Army to work with animals, rather than say, kennels or a vet in civvy street.
ii. What have you done to demonstrate a passion to work with animals?

To ace any interview, know yourself inside out, have a very good knowledge of the role and organisation you're wishing to join, and show PASSION for either the role, or related subject.

In your case, show and provide evidence that you love animals, and have some experience working with them eg volunteering in a kennels / stables etc etc
