I really want to study psychology at university and feel the need to for my personal statement (but also to broaden my own interests) get some extra reading under my belt in and around the subject.

Anyone who's starting a psychology course in September or is already doing/has completed one, what would you recommend and what is generally expected of psychology applicants when it comes to wider reading, if anything?

Also look out for essay competitions in psychology for sixth formers that often run over the summer holiday

I just finished AS Psychology and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, It was boring at the start with all the research methods and approaches but it gets better in the second half. I initally chose it as a filler subject just to stimulate my mind, I will still be dropping it next year because I can;t handle 4 A levels and psychology is the only subject that is kind of irrelevant to my course.
