Law degree watch

    • Thread Starter

I've always been interested in law, however the only problem I have with law is if you're a lawyer you may end up having to defend someone who is guilty and I just find that morally wrong, if someone has done something wrong they should go down for it.

Also what exactly is a law and criminology degree i've from many people that its to do with forensics and i've also heard that its just learning crime law so i'm not really sure what it is.

Onlu a small % of lawyers will specialise in criminal law and then only a portion of those will do defence work. There are professional ethics that deal with who you defend and on what basis, so you cnat mislead the court. if a client tells you they are innocent, then you accept their word and defend them as its not for you to judge as that duty is for the court. If they tell you they are guilty, then you cant assist them in telling the opposite to the court as your main duty is to the court. The next repsonsonility is to your client. Its not for you to judge their guilt or whether they should go down. You will understand how it works when you do A level or get to Uni.

Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
